Ford Motors Co continued to prove its ability to defeat tough circumstances, as the automaker said sales Ford brand sales topped two million vehicles this year, which is the first time to realize this number since 2007. Ford is not implying a 15 percent share in the U.S market.
Furthermore, the revamped Explorer SUV and other new models like Fiesta helped Detroit's automaker to exceed two million of sales, while the company sold around 1.9 million cars in 2010 in the U.S market.
It is important to know that Ford's light cars sales in the United States including the Mercury brand and Lincoln, rose 9 percent between January and November to record 1.93 percent. On the yearly record, light vehicles deliveries climbed 18 percent to record 1.86 million till November 30, while Lincoln deliveries are off 1%, recording 77,240 units.
The increase in sales is powered by Ford's Fiesta that was unveiled in June last year and tripled sales during this year, while the Explorer sales more than doubled, which gave a strong push for Ford's performance. The automaker said its deliveries of small vehicles are about to record a 20 percent increase, while sales of utility vehicles gained around 30 percent.
Finally, Ford managed to occupy the top of U.S light vehicles deliveries in November, followed by General Motor's Chevrolet with total sales of 1.61 million cars, Toyota Motor that recorded 1.25 million units and Honda Motor with total sales of 931,000 units.
