Toyota Motors Co is studying preparing a super car to be the successor to its famous Supra. Japan's largest automaker is working on a high performance vehicle and it is now testing a prototype supplied with a V6 3.5 liter hybrid, which is able to generate 400 hp.

Toyota is paying more attention for the car's style and design, so the vehicle's design is coming from the FT-HS that is a concept first unveiled in the Detroit Motor Show 2007. We can say that the new super car is going to have a hard competition with its rival Nissan GT-R, which is also famous for high performance.

Toyota officials ensured that there is no need to rush and complete the project in a short time, as the automaker is waiting to see consumers' feedback about the GT 86, which is currently being developed in coordination with Subaru. Comments and feedback about the GT 86 will help Toyota measure the level of demand for fast and high performance vehicles in order to determine the proper time to introduce its new car.

As for Toyota's sales, the automaker expects its global sales to increase 20 percent and record 8.48 million units by the end of 2012, especially with the Japanese market recovering from the consequences of the worst recession since World War II. The automaker expects to win the third rank in the highest selling brands race, and to come after General Motors and Volkswagen. In case the new Supra was introduced within next year, we may see Toyota's expected numbers being modified, especially when it attract buyers.
